Pastor Don Wruck grew up the youngest of four boys in Jacksonville, Florida. Their family was very involved at Berean Baptist Church and their Christian school. He accepted Christ as his Savior on October 10, 1986 when he was almost five years old. Repeatedly as a young boy most of his classmates would surrender to preach with the exception of himself. He just wanted to be open to whatever God had for him. He continued on to attend Berean Baptist College for two years before transferring to Hyles-Anderson College. He met his wife, Leah McBreairty, in registration line on his first day. They were married in 2004 and graduated by 2006. Because of his severe fear of speaking in public, he had gone through six years of Bible College never having preached one sermon. He was convinced God didn’t want him to preach. One week following graduation, he was hired to start a Christian school here at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Within the next five years, God would bless them with 6 children.
He would continue for 7 ½ years as the Assistant Pastor preaching junior church, school chapel and to the teenagers as their Youth Pastor. On Sunday, March 9th, 2014 he accepted the position of pastorate and considers it a privilege and honor to be able to serve the people at Lighthouse. He is excited about the strengthening of the church families in their faith and getting more involved in worldwide missions. Please pray for Lighthouse Baptist Church as we strive to reach the Orlando area with the blessed Gospel of Jesus Christ.
